Bombers were too strong for the Saints in Round 5 in Kingaroy

July 5, 2013

South Burnett Saints will be taking on the Toowoomba Bombers at Rockville Oval in Toowoomba on Saturday afternoon.

Although the Saints’ form has been improving as the season has progressed it will still be a tough ask to beat the Bombers at home.

The last time the two sides met was in Kingaroy in Round 5, when South Toowoomba was triumphant 26.16 (172) to 5.11 (41).

However, this time around the Bombers have lost three on the trot and have been hard hit with injuries.

Jeff Neumann is one of the big names missing from the side which will put added pressure on fellow midfielder Bradon Behan.

The match-up of the day is expected to be in the ruck with South Burnett’s Lucas Walsh improving every week.

He has height on many opponents, but uses his leap to accurately palm the ball down to skipper Adam Bowater.

His opponent this week will be 18-year-old Lachlan Walters.
