Members from “St John’s Trebles” are coming to Wondai at the weekend

June 11, 2013

Boy choristers from St John’s Cathedral in Brisbane will be performing a special one-off concert in Wondai on Saturday (June 15).

The choir is made up of boys who have earned a scholarship to attend the Anglican Church Grammar School (“Churchie”) in Brisbane.

They will be performing at St Mary’s Anglican Church in Wondai, on the corner of Bramston and Baynes streets, from 3:00pm.

Admission is $5 for adults and a gold coin for concessions.

All proceeds will support the South Burnett Youth Choir which is bringing the choristers to the South Burnett.

The following morning, Sunday (June 16), the South Burnett Youth Choir will be joining with the choristers from 10:00am to 11:15am in a free singing workshop for children.

The workshop will be held at St Mary’s and is open to children aged 8 and over.

South Burnett Youth Choir organiser Jane Iszlaub said no experience was necessary and there would be no solos.

“But bring your own water bottle and pencil; music will be provided,” she said.
