The keys to control three new “fire danger” signs have been handed over to local Rural Fire Brigades in the South Burnett.
The signs, which were erected by Main Roads earlier this month, are located at Tingoora, Cloyna and on the Proston-Boondooma Road at Coverty.
Bush Fire Safety Officer – Regional Operations (North Coast Region) Craig Magick presented the keys to local firefighters today,
He said the signs would greatly assist all South Burnett communities as well as travellers passing through the area to alert them what the daily fire dagger rating was.
“Last year, all brigades in the shire had an early start the fire season and this year’s season is nearly upon us,” Mr Magick said.
“Remember … Prepare – Act – Survive. Further inquiries can be made by contacting your local Rural Fire Brigade and/or fire wardens.”
