1913 Council Chambers ... then and now

June 7, 2013

The Kingaroy Information Art and Heritage Precinct is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the old 1913 Council Chambers with a free “block party” for the public tomorrow (June 8).

The “100 Years on the Block” Festival will be held from 10:00am to 4:00pm in the area around the Old Chambers building in Haly Street and Edward Street.

There’ll be market stalls, “old time” games, whip cracking demonstrations by the students from St John’s Lutheran School, a jumping castle, face painting and live entertainment.

Keith Parker will be singing country favourites and the Sing Australia choir will be performing.

A multi-draw raffle will be held with all money raised going to charity.

The winners of the South Burnett Regional Acquisitive Youth Art Competition ” Digital Art Goes Wild” will also be announced.
