Suggestion boxes have been placed around the Maidenwell area to collect community ideas in regards to proposed town improvements.
The boxes – which have been placed at the Trading Post, the Maidenwell Hotel and the Tanduringie State School – are the product of a town meeting held earlier this month at the Maidenwell Hall.
The meeting, on May 14, also resulted in the formation of a town committee to discuss future expenditure proposals with the South Burnett Regional Council.
Maidenwell resident Fay Watkin, who chaired the meeting, said Gavin Jones (Maidenwell Hotel) was elected president of the new committee.
Other members are: vice-president Andrew Ferrell (Trading Post), secretary/treasurer Ros Kidman and committee members Max Forsyth, Darryl Otto, Ros Pincott and Richard Don.
Mrs Watkin said the committee was now waiting for Council to fix a date for a second meeting with the Maidenwell community.
Once this date was fixed, the suggestion boxes would be collected and the results collated by the committee for presentation at this meeting.
