Three wins in a row! The South Burnett Thrashers rugby union team thrilled fans with a dominant 52-15 victory over Roma in Kingaroy on Saturday afternoon.

Club president Shane O’Malley said it was great win in front of a home crowd.

“We built the win again on defence which was really pleasing,” he said.

He was also pleased the team put in their some of their best performances in the last 10-15 minutes of the game.

“They never let up, they were putting in for the whole time,” Shane said.

Player of the Match was flanker Scott Simms.

Half-back Mitch Clark and centre Mick Smallwood also had good games.

Next week the Thrashers are back on the road, heading to “the Fishbowl” in Condamine to come up against the Condamine Cods.

“They’re about the same as us on the table but are always a big test at home,” Shane said.

“Last year they only defeated us by scoring after the siren.  This year we hope to do one better.”

The Thrashers did not let up for the full 80 minutes
