There were pumpkins everywhere at last year's Goomeri Pumpkin Festival

May 23, 2013

Pumpkins will be rolling again in Goomeri on Sunday for the 17th annual Goomeri Pumpkin Festival … the region’s largest and zaniest annual event.

The day-long  festival will kick off at 6:00am when the barbecue in the SES Building gets underway.

Street markets will open at 8:00am.

During the day there’ll be a lot of pumpkin-themed events: decorated pumpkins, pumpkin bowls,  giant pumpkins, pumpkin shotput etc.

But the highlight – as always – will be the Great Australian Pumpkin Roll which will get underway at 2:00pm. Registrations to take part in the roll will be taken from 8:30am.

There’s also plenty of other events, including whipcracking, bush poetry, live music,  a bullock team and a street parade at 10:30am.
