University proved too strong for the South Burnett Saints
And the big men fly …

2012 semi-finalists University were too strong for the South Burnett Saints in their Round 6 AFL match played in Kingaroy on Saturday afternoon.

The final score was University 24.14 (161) to South Burnett 8.3 (51).

However there was some good news for the Saints who had a strong third quarter, scoring six goals and holding University to the same number.

Goal kickers for South Burnett were D. Bowater (2), P. Pressnell, N. Trace, T. Snow, M. Eckermann, B. Edwards and J. Trezise.

Best players were A. Brennan, A. Totton, A. Bowater, L. Walsh, D. Bowater and J. Arrell

The Saints and other 2013 newcomers Chinchilla are tied on four points on the competition ladder after six rounds.

Next weekend, the South Burnett seniors have a bye. Juniors are scheduled to play Pittsworth at Pittsworth.

The Seniors’ next match is a home game against 2012 AFL Darling Downs premiers, the Toowoomba Tigers, at 2:30pm on June 1 at Lyle Vidler Oval.

Juniors will be facing the Toowoomba East Stingers.
