Booking’s for Sunday’s “Mayor’s Community Breakfast” at Dusty Hill winery at Moffatdale will close this afternoon.

The breakfast features a talk by former Olympic swimmer and world record holder, Julie McDonald.

South Burnett’s Relay for Life fund-raising efforts will also receive a boost from the funds raised.

“Our charity of choice for this month’s Mayor’s Breakfast is one that is close to my heart. I am sure almost everyone in the region knows of someone who has been effected by cancer,” South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said.

“We are holding it at Dusty Hill Winery this month. Joe Prendergast from Dusty Hill approached me after the first Mayor’s Community breakfast and suggested holding one on a Sunday at the winery for those businesses that have been unable to attend previous week-day community breakfasts.

“We are scheduled to have more of a brunch than a breakfast this month. And considering it’s at a winery, there may be some jolly souls by lunch time.”

More than 25 people have already bought a ticket for the breakfast which is being held from 9:00am to noon.

Tickets are $40 and will be on sale until 3:00pm today.

To book, phone Kerrie Le Du at the South Burnett Regional Council on (07) 4189-9511.
