Well-known former ABC Southern Queensland radio announcer Chris Jensen died in hospital in Toowoomba on Friday.
Mr Jensen, who hosted the breakfast show for 13 years, had pancreatic cancer.
The veteran broadcaster began his radio career in Brisbane and worked at 4BC before shifting to the ABC.
Former colleagues have posted tributes online.
Spencer Howson tweeted: “I have nothing but praise for CJ on air and off. What a decent bloke.”
David Busch added: “A great guy”.
Retired announcer John Knox told 4BC: “The broadcasting world – and in particular, the listeners, are all the more poorer, for his passing. He was an excellent broadcaster… and an excellent human being.”
His funeral will be held at Burstows Funeral Home in Toowoomba on Thursday at 10:ooam.
