The Burrandowan Race Club will be holding its annual Burrandowan Picnic Race Meeting at their racecourse 66km west of Kingaroy on Saturday.
The meeting has been held every year since 1922 and is the oldest race meeting in the South Burnett.
As usual, this year’s meeting will feature an on-course TAB, live telecasts of interstate races, a big betting ring, barbecue and bar.
There’ll also be a Fashions Of The Field competition where contestants will vie for $4000 in prizes; free overnight camping in the grounds; and post-race entertainment with pit-fired steaks and a live band.
Shuttle buses will leave from the Glendon Street bus station opposite the South Burnett Regional Council’s offices in Kingaroy; phone (07) 4168-1533 to guarantee a seat.
Gates will open at the track early in the day and the first race will leave the barriers at 1:00pm.
