Crime Stoppers have launched a 3-2-1 campaign

May 8, 2013

Crime Stoppers have launched a “3,2,1” campaign in a bid to get more illegal firearms off the streets.

The campaign follows the end of the State Government’s amnesty on weapons and urges Queenslanders to “dob in” illegal weapons anonymously.

Concerned citizens are being urged to call 1800 333-000 or visit www.easyas321.com.au to report illegal firearms.

“Each year, terrible crimes and tragic accidents continue to occur because of illegal firearms,” a Crime Stoppers spokesman said.

“An unregistered or illegal firearm can easily get in the wrong hands; whether it be used by a criminal or even a child who mistakes it for a toy.

“Reducing the threat of illegal firearms has never been easier and sharing information anonymously removes any fear of retaliation.

“How can we guarantee the illegal firearm will never be used in a terrible crime or even a tragic accident? We can’t.

“With your help, though, we can take it out of circulation. It’s as easy as 3, 2, 1.”
