All around the South Burnett, part-time runners and joggers are in training for the 2013 Mother’s Day Classic fun run which has been organised by the Go Getta Girls running club.

The charity run, to be held on May 12 in Kingaroy, raises money for breast cancer research.

Last year’s event attracted more than 280 competitors.

Closing date for online registrations for the 2013 event is next Wednesday ( May 8 ) however registrations can also be made on the day from 7:00am.

Participants can choose from either a 4km walk/run (which starts at 7:45am) or an 8km run (7:30am).

The starting line will be at the bridge on Haly Street, Kingaroy, near Memorial Park.

The course is all on bitumen roads and is suitable for prams and wheelchairs but dogs are not allowed.

Entry fee is adults $20; students / Health Card holders $12; children (16yrs and under) $10; family (2 adults and up to 4 children) $50; family (1 adult and up to 4 children) $30

Kingaroy Rotary Club will be selling freshly made bacon and egg burgers in Memorial Park.
