The South Burnett Orchid Society’s annual orchid show – run to coincide with Wondai’s Autumn Garden Expo – drew a good crowd to the Wondai Diggers Club on Saturday.

It’s become something of a tradition for visitors to the Expo to drop into the club on their way to the sportsgrounds.

This is the fourth show the club has held in Wondai, and it’s getting bigger and bigger every year.

Club president  Alwyn Waldron said there were about 200 entries, more than last year.

The champion orchid of the show was a spectacular (and tall) cattleya hybrid grown by Russ and Jan Hopkins, from Ningi.
