A 16-year-old youth has been flown to hospital after the vehicle he was travelling in rolled in the Jimna State Forest this afternoon.

An AGL Action Helicopter Rescue Service spokesman said the Brisbane teenager was a passenger in the vehicle which rolled when its driver lost control and veered off the dirt road. The car came to rest on an embankment.

The helicopter’s intensive care paramedic was winched down to the scene of the crash to treat the teenager who suffered pelvic and possible spinal injuries.

He was airlifted to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver and a second passenger were taken to hospital by road ambulance.
