Deputy Mayor Cr Keith Campbell is led away for questioning by Kingaroy police officer
Constable Chris Barron

April 3, 2013

Some of the most unlikely people will be going behind bars this week, “doing time” to stop youth crime and helping out the South Burnett PCYC.

South Burnett Deputy Mayor Keith Campbell is among the detainees taking part in Time4Kids 2013.

He has to raise at least $500 bail to get released from the PCYC jail … but he’s hoping he can raise even more.

If he reaches his target, Keith will be released at 10:00am on Saturday at Kingaroy Shoppingworld, along with the other “prisoners” taking part in the fundraiser.

He’s already received his summons and was taken in for questioning by Kingaroy police yesterday …

“I would welcome any donations of cash to help towards the bail. As you know, a diet of bread and water is not my cup of tea,” Keith pleaded.

The prisoners face at least a 30-minute sentence at Shoppingworld but the word on the street is they may get to stay inside even longer … if money is given to the right people (everything over $2 is tax deductible).

Time4Kids is being held to coincide with National Youth Week.

All money raised will go to the South Burnett PCYC to help them provide activities for local youth.

Anyone who would like to assist the Deputy Mayor get back on the straight and narrow should give Keith a ring on 0439-708-553.

He will arrange a time to collect the donation.
