South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann will officially launch a new “Mayor’s Charity Trust” at the Mayoral Charity Gala Ball which will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall on June 1.
Mayor Kratzmann told southburnett.com.au this morning that funds raised from the ball will be used to kickstart the new Trust.
He said “four or five” people from across the South Burnett who are held in high esteem would be appointed to determine what projects would be supported by the ongoing Trust.
“The Trust will be there to support worthwhile projects – not events – that need a hand to get over the line,” Cr Kratzmann said.
The Trust’s funds would be topped up in future by periodic public events such as the Charity Gala Ball, Mayoral breakfasts and similar activities.
Grants from the Trust would be primarily targetted at South Burnett projects.
NB. Tickets to the Charity Gala Ball, which features jazz star James Morrison, are now sold out.
