Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington is looking for three people from the Nanango Electorate to accompany her to a community consultation summit in Mackay in May.
The summit is part of a 12-month process launched recently by the State Government to develop a long-term vision for the State called “The Queensland Plan”.
The Plan will be a collaborative process involving community members, business and industry representatives and all levels of government.
Mrs Frecklington said it would outline a shared vision for the next 30 years and identify local and state-wide priorities.
“The Plan will not be a government vision but rather it will be Queensland’s vision,” she said.
“The Premier is inviting all Queenslanders to contribute their ideas via their local Member so that this government, and future governments, can gain a clear picture of where our community wants the State to be in 30 years’ time.”
Mrs Frecklington said she was seeking nominations for delegates who would be willing to take part in the community consultation and engagement process between May and October.
The first summit will be held in Mackay on Friday, May 10.
“All travel and accommodation costs will be covered and you must be able to travel on May 10,” she said.
“I am inviting anyone in the Nanango Electorate who is interested in joining me for the Mackay Summit to email my office explaining in no more than 50 words why you would like to participate in this event. It would be great to hear from interested community members no later than Friday, April 5.”
