A 41-year-old Maroochydore man died when he lost control of his motorbike while riding in the Mt Binga State Forest near Cooyar yesterday.

A police spokesman said the man was riding on an unnamed forestry road about 10:00am when he lost control on a bend and hit a tree.

The man died at the scene.

He had been part of a group of motorcyclists who had been riding in forestry area.

Police investigations are continuing.
