The Rotary Club of Kingaroy-Taabinga has sponsored a local exchange student to spend this year in Sweden, and the Club is now required to host a student: a 15 or 16-year-old girl from Switzerland.

The club needs to find three or four host families for the year who would be willing to have an additional family member for 3-4 months.

There is no financial incentive to do this, but this club pays a sufficient allowance to the student for their personal needs.

All Rotary travel and any other personal travel that students do is at their expense.

So apart from some “disruption” to normal life, the only cost to you would be food.

The only formal qualification to take on this role is the ability to obtain a Blue Card from the Children’s Commission for every adult member of the family.

The would assess general suitability.
