March 6, 2013
A new date has been fixed for the twice-postponed Yarraman forum.
Toowoomba Mayor Paul Antonio and councillors from Toowoomba Regional Council will now visit Yarraman on Wednesday, March 13, to discuss visions for the future of the town.
Residents from Yarraman and Cooyar are invited to attend the meeting which will be held at Yarraman Memorial Hall in Browne Street from 6:00pm.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for councillors to receive submissions on community priorities and visions for the future.
The forum is a follow-on from a similar visit to the area in 2012.
The evening will include a presentation from Yarraman organisations as to their vision for Yarraman and future economic opportunities through the development of tourism.
For Cooyar residents it will be an opportunity to progress development of Memorial Park as well as re-affirming the community’s issue with current town maintenance and its general amenity.
Guest speakers will also provide a snapshot of community funding opportunities and scheduled council development programs for the current financial year and beyond
Refreshments will be served.
