The South Burnett Youth Choir is hosting six free open rehearsals in February for children interested in becoming singers.

Choir conductor Jane Iszlaub said three sessions would be held on Mondays (February 11, 18 and 25) at the Wondai Art Gallery from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

The other three sessions would also be held in Kingaroy at Mrs Marion Otto’s studio (opposite Kingaroy Pool) on Tuesdays (February 12, 19, 26) from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

All sessions are free.

Jane said the choir was looking forward to a fantastic year.

Some of the plans include workshops with the St Peter’s Lutheran College Chorale and the “Voices of Birralee” youth choir.

The choir will also collaborate with the South Burnett Musical Comedy Society production of “Oliver” and there will be an opportunity to participate in the Tasmanian “Festival of Voices” youth choir.

Jane said rehearsals for current Youth Choir members would begin on Monday, February 4, at the Wondai Art Gallery (4:00pm start) and on Tuesday, February 5, at Mrs Otto’s studio (5:30pm start).
