A driver was lucky to escape injury when their car skidded off the D’Aguilar Highway on the outskirts of Kingaroy on Saturday night.
Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, from Kingaroy Police, said it appeared the car struck a large volume of water on the road.
The driver lost control as the vehicle aquaplaned, ending up in scrub on the side of the highway.
“Fortunately no one was injured,” Senior Sergeant Frank said.
“It could easily have been a fatality.”
The highway was open to traffic at the time of the incident.
Police investigations are continuing.
