The South Burnett Regional Council has activated its Emergency Action Plan for Gordonbrook Dam.
The dam level is currently 1.3m over the spillway and still rising.
Downstream residents on the Stuart River should monitor flood levels and contact Council should they consider evacuation necessary; or consider self-evacuating to friends or family if they believe they are at risk.
UPDATE: At 11:00am the dam was 1.5m over the spillway. South Burnett Water and Sewerage Manager Russell Hood told southburnett.com.au that Council was expecting this level to rise, affecting properties between Gordonbrook and Boondooma Dam. During the 2011 floods, Gordonbrook was 2.5m over the spillway.
UPDATE: At 2:00pm, there was 2.3m of water over the Gordonbrook Dam spillway. There is still water flowing into the dam from heavy rainfall overnight on the Bunya Mountains. Council has been contacting property owners downstream.
