January 24, 2013

Three people were taken to hospital for check-ups after a nose-to-tail traffic crash occurred on the D’Aguilar Highway near Coolabunia about 11:45am today.

Traffic on the highway was reduced to one lane for about an hour as emergency personnel attended the scene.

Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, from Kingaroy Police, said a Nanango mother and daughter were waiting in a stationary vehicle at traffic lights when they were rear-ended.

The incident occurred about 500m south of Peterson Road, near roadworks.

The second vehicle was being driven by an 80-year-old Goodger man.

All three were taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital as a precautionary measure.

“Fortunately no one was seriously injured,” Sen Sgt Frank said.

The highway was fully re-opened at 12:40pm.

Police investigations into the incident are continuing.
