A man who had been the subject of an intensive police hunt near Kingaroy at the weekend has been charged with multiple offences.

Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said the man had been captured about 4:00pm yesterday near Schellbachs Road, Kingaroy.

“He had been hiding out in thick bushland,” Snr Sgt Frank said.

“The area is heavily timbered with heavy lantana which provided him with concealment.”

Curtis Hayden entered no plea and did not apply for bail when he appeared in custody in Kingaroy Magistrates Court this morning.

Hayden has been charged with unlawful use of a caravan, dangerous conduct with a weapon, threatening violence, assault and two counts of break and enter.

Police will allege Hayden pointed a firearm at a 28-year-old man on January 11; and allegedly assaulted the same man on January 6.

Hayden, who stood barefoot in the dock, was unrepresented although the court was told a Brisbane solicitor had spoken to police and was seeking a seven-day adjournment.

Magistrate Mark Bucknall remanded Hayden in custody to January 24.
