Thursday’s storm not only sparked fires in multiple parts of the South Burnett, a mini-cell ripped out huge trees by their roots along White Rocks Road near Goodger; fallen eucalypts and large pine trees blocked the road for many hours; others still lay strewn around adjacent paddocks

Multiple fire crews are attending a grass fire burning near the Burnett Highway at Redgate.

This is another fire that was reportedly sparked by Thursday’s lightning storm.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said firefighters were establishing containment lines and were expected to remain on scene into the evening.

A spotter aircraft has been used throughout the South Burnett over the past few days to help firefighters detect lightning strike fires from the air.
