The South Burnett’s annual round of town Christmas carnivals has kicked off with celebrations held in Nanango and Blackbutt.

In Nanango, the Lions Club and junior Leos joined with the Nanango Blue Light Disco to host a special skating and disco night at the rink in George Street.

There was face painting, a free disco and Santa made a special appearance to hand out ice blocks and lollies.

In Blackbutt, the Lions Club celebration was focussed on the Blackbutt Community Hall and the adjacent park.There was live music from the Taromeo Country Music Club as well as markets and an arts and crafts fair, a sausage sizzle and jumping castles for the children.
