The Burnett Softball Association will be holding a Special General Meeting on January 19 to elect a new President and Secretary.

Current secretary Maria Cocup explained to parents after Saturday morning’s games in Nanango that she and her husband Ian, the club’s president, will be leaving the South Burnett next year because of a job transfer.

They are not leaving the area immediately so will be on hand for a while to assist the new club officers. She said the club was lucky to have a good committee in place.

The association holds games every Saturday at the Nanango Sports Fields in Burnett Street.

Junior games run from 8:30am to 10:30am; this is followed by a social senior game.

Coach Owen Stewart said there are three teams taking part in the junior competition, with one team playing a double-header every three weeks.

The last games for 2012 will be played on December 8.

Games will resume on February 2 and will run weekly to the grand final which will be played on March 23.

“All players are welcome,” Mr Stewart said.
