St Mary’s Catholic College’s Year 12 students and families were farewelled today at a Graduation Mass celebrated by Fr Michael Carroll in the College’s Maryknoll Centre in Kingaroy.
The Senior students walked into the centre hand-in-hand with the college’s Prep students.
During the ceremony, the students were reminded to hold true to the Christian principles that the College and their families had instilled in them.
As each student graduated, they were presented with a certificate by Principal Mr Michael Nayler and a small gift from Mrs Collins, their homeroom teacher.
The students then presented their parents with a rose to thank them for their love and support throughout their time at the College.
After a PowerPoint featuring highlights from the Seniors’ time at school, the students left the building via a 200m long Guard of Honour. The Seniors stopped along the way for hugs and best wishes from staff and younger students alike.
The Graduation Day finished with a Morning Tea for the Seniors and their parents.
“This week has been a wonderful celebration of our Senior students and their contribution to our College,” Mr Nayler said.
“From our Farewell Retreat earlier in the week, through to our Valedictory Dinner and Graduation Mass, our Senior students have thoroughly demonstrated the values that have helped Saint Mary’s to always produce such outstanding men and women.”
