Kilkivan State School will receive funding from the State Government to employ a school chaplain next year.
Education, Training and Employment Minister John-Paul Langbroek announced today that 21 schools had been selected to join the Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care Funding Program.
“As part of our election commitment, the Newman Government allocated an extra $1 million over four years for the Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care Funding Program,” Mr Langbroek said.
“Back in September we announced a 10 per cent funding increase for the 128 state schools that were currently receiving funding under the program.
“Now we have identified a further 21 state schools to join the program from the start of next year, with first-time funding to employ chaplains and pastoral care workers in these schools.”
