Despite threatening clouds, the rain held off for Saturday night’s racing at Kingaroy Speedway with the big crowd enjoying some very fast racing as well as the usual thrills and spills.

Organisers say more 1200 came through the gates.

One of the highlights of the evening wasn’t actually the racing … Roly, Poly and Panda – the Crazy Comedy modified minis – stole the show with their crazy antics.

In Round 3 of  the Think Money Super Sedan Championship Series, current series point leader Steve Jordan exerted his dominance,  recording back-to-back victories.

Defending champion Matt Pascoe, making his first appearance for the year, managed third.

Toowoomba’s Sean Black, who has brought home two fourth places finishes so far this season, continued to improve, gaining the No 2 spot on the podium.

New lap records were set in three or the four classes contested on the night:

  • Super Sedans: Des Korn – 14.845 seconds
  • Wingless Sprints: Dan Moes – 14.811 seconds
  • Production Sedans: Adrian Stott – 17.641 seconds

Korn’s night ended in the second round of heats in the Super Sedans when he hit the wall.

The next round of speedway in Kingaroy, on December 15, will feature the National Super Sedan Series, lightning sprints, street sedans, junior sedans … and fireworks!

After being forced to replace the roof following a spectacular rollover at his last Kingaroy outing, Kristian Walker was keen to keep all four wheels of his VY Commodore Production Sedan firmly planted on the ground this time around
