Multiple fire crews are on site trying to establishing containment lines for a large grass fire burning near Kinbombi Road and the Wide Bay Highway, east of Goomeri.
Firefighters were called to the scene about 9:20am today.
The fire is believed to be burning on a 4km front along the rail corridor adjacent to the highway.
No further information is available at this stage.
UPDATE 4:30pm: Fourteen fire crews are on site.
The fire is located between Kinbombi Road and Coleman Siding Road, about six kilometres east of Goomeri.
Graders have been used to help establish containment lines which are currently being strengthened.
The fire, which is burning in sparsely wooded country, is now contained on the eastern, northern and western boundaries with fire crews concentrating on the southern boundary.
No property is under threat.
