Seven fire crews are today monitoring a blaze burning in inaccessible country off East Cooyar Road near Cooyar.

An Emergency Services spokesperson said firefighters were called about 12:30pm yesterday.

They have conducted backburning and have contained the fire, which doesn’t pose any threat to property.

However there is smoke haze in the area.

Meanwhile, a fire which has been burning on the Mundubbera-Durong Road at Brovinia for four days is still alight.

Fire crews are on the scene and are working with property owners in the area to contain the blaze which has entered a State Forestry area.

They are working alongside crews from the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service.

At Mannuem, firefighters contained a grass fire this afternoon near Mannuem Road.
