Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has spelled some of the specific benefits for the South Burnett from Tuesday’s State Budget:

  • $2 million for works at Kingaroy Hospital
  • $1.5m for Kingaroy Ambulance Station
  • $21,000 for restoration of the Taromeo Cemetery
  • $750,000 for the Burnett Mary Regional Group
  • $59.8 million to complete the reconstruction of the D’Aguilar Highway across the Blackbutt Range
  • Stabilisation of the Jimna Fire Tower
  • Appointment of a Crop Protection Officer based in the South Burnett

As well, $4.8 million has been set aside for disability services in the South Burnett, Somerset and Toowoomba areas, and the South Burnett Regional Council will share in $250,000 funding to help it recover from the impact of the 2011 floods.
