More than $75,000 was presented to South Burnett community groups at Council’s inaugural Community Assistance Funding presentation night.
The funding, which represents “annualised” support budgeted by the South Burnett Regional Council for groups or re-occurring events, was handed over in individual cheques to representatives from the 64 groups gathered at Kingaroy Town Hall.
Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said the evening was “all about recognising what people do in our great community”.
Recipients included show societies, hall committees, sporting groups, festival committees, school bodies and charities.
