The State Government shake-up of the Australian Agricultual College Corporation will not affect the operations of the Dalby Training Centre, a State Government spokesman said today.
The Dalby Training Centre has both work-based and school-based trainees and operates two training farms in the Dalby area.
However the spokesman told southburnett.com.au responsibility for the operation of the college now lay with the Education Department so it would be “business as usual”.
Yesterday, a media statement released by Agricultural Minister John McVeigh said the Emerald Agricultual College and the Longreach Pastoral College would remain open and would take in new students in 2013.
“There’s absolutely no doubt these colleges need a major shake-upm as highlighted by the Ernst & Young report, but I’m confident we can turn this around and have them be ready for next year’s intake of students at both campuses,” Mr McVeigh said.
