Kingaroy businesses are being urged to help promote next month’s Tractor Tattoo Festival by mounting tractor displays in their shop windows.
The idea is the brainchild of the Kingaroy Retailers and Small Business Group which is putting together a Tractor Tattoo promotion to help raise awareness of the Festival and encourage consumer interest in the town’s CBD at the same time.
To take part, participating businesses need to buy a 70 x 50 MDF tractor cutout from the group for $20. They they can then decorate it in a theme that suits their business (for example, a florist might paint flowers on their tractor; a clothing retailer might “dress up” their tractor).
Each business will also be asked to contribute a $30 voucher towards a combined prize pool.
Radio station Crow-FM 90.7 will then run a public competition where listeners will be asked to identify a particular tractor (eg: “What shop has a tractor that’s wearing green pants?”, “Who has a tractor covered in flowers in their shop window?”) to win one of the voucher give-aways.
The KRSBG believes the promotion will benefit participants in several ways and are also looking at a no-cost spin-off event to encourage children to take part in the Festival promotion as well.
However – with Tractor Tattoo set to fire up on September 15 – time is short.
So any business interested in taking part should contact Janelle Frohloff at Something’s Country on (07) 4162-2040 for more information ASAP.
