South Burnett cricketers are looking forward to a pre-season one-day match against the Wanderers Queensland Club in Kingaroy tomorrow (August 25).
The Wanderers, who began their annual 12-day Queensland tour in mid-August, will play a South Burnett XI in a 50-over match at Lyle Vidler Oval from10:00am.
Wanderers’ teams usually include past and present First Class cricketers, current First Grade players and up and coming young players in the Metropolitan and Country Cricket Grades.
Selected for the South Burnett side are Dan O’Connor, Ashley Sippel, Dan Learmont, Kyron Tunstall, Lauren Hume, Wayne Kelly, Anthony Eden, Jay Steinhardt, Jon Alexander, Mitchell Bunker and Tavis Hartwig.
Local hero Holly Ferling, who has just returned from Sri Lanka, had been tipped to play but has had to withdraw due to training commitments in Brisbane with the State women’s team, the Queensland Fire.
There will be a coaching session for junior cricketers before the game.
