The Bunya Highway at Wondai has re-opened to normal traffic following a fatal traffic crash earlier this evening at the intersection of Wondai-Proston Road and the Bunya Highway.
A police spokesman said a sedan and a ute collided about 6:15pm.
Preliminary investigations suggest a 29-year-old local man driving a hatchback sedan was turning right onto the Bunya Highway when the incident occurred. He died at the scene.
The driver of the ute, a 29-year-old man from Nerang who was travelling north on the highway, sustained only minor injuries.
Police directed traffic through the intersection one lane at a time while emergency crews attended.
Investigations are continuing.
