Peter Ricketts, Linda and Darryl Brown were enjoying the long lunch at Bridgeman Downs

August 22, 2012

The annual Vine Dining Long Lunch at Moffatdale, hosted by local cellar doors Bridgeman Downs and Clovely Estate, drew a good crowd of partygoers on Saturday eager to sit in the sun, sip fine wine and enjoy good food.

Both wineries served up regional cuisine between 11:00am and 3:00pm while live music entertained the diners.

A shuttle bus was on hand to move patrons between the two establishments.

Wally Pesudovs, from Clovely Estate, said he served more meals than last year which means the event is getting better known.

This is the fourth time that Vine Dining has been run, although this year there were only two cellar doors involved following the mothballing earlier this year of the Barambah Wines’ cellar door.

Wally said a lot of locals turned up to enjoy the sunshine but there were also patrons from the Sunshine Coast and Gympie. He erected a large marquee on the lawn at Clovely Estate which was filled with diners.

Planning for next year’s event is already underway.

Wally told southburnett.com.au he hoped more local cellar doors could become involved.
