A long weekend and sunshine always seems to bring out the car clubs … and we’re not complaining!

Six cars (and 12 owners) from the Brisbane-based American Ford V8 Club visited the South Burnett on Sunday as part of a three-day drive through the area.

The mini-rally stayed at Gympie on Day 1 and then headed through Goomeri and Murgon to Wondai, where they pulled over at the Visitor Information Centre to catch up on the latest information.

They then travelled to Kingaroy where they stayed the night before returning home.

The American Ford V8 Club is open to vehicles manufactured between 1955 and 1972.

Amongst the cars visiting Wondai on Sunday was a rare two-door left-hand-drive Mercury Marquis hardtop.
