Women’s running club the Go Getta Girls held a movie night at the Satellite Cinema in Kingaroy on Sunday night to help raise funds for the 2012 Relay for Life.

The featured movie “The Sapphires” is an Australian comedy which tells the story four young, talented indigenous women who are discovered by a talent scout and travel to Vietnam in 1968 to sing for the troops.

Members got in the spirit of the film by donning 1960s retro wear.

A club spokesman said the night was a great success and finished with homemade savoury and sweet treats.

Go Getta Girls are also planning to hold a Garage Sale on Saturday, September 22, to help raise more funds for Relay for Life.
