Riders from St Mary’s Catholic College in Kingaroy took out second place from 52 competing schools at the Fraser Coast Equestrian Challenge held in Maryborough last week.

The 235 riders at the event came from schools from the Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay and Callide as well as  the North and South Burnett.

All 14 students from St Mary’s either won or were placed in events ranging from campdrafting, showjumping and sporting events, through to hacking, dressage and led classes.

Students Gabe Crane and Patrick Frohloff were overall Champions in their age groups.

Principal Michael Nayler said a very committed team of parents ensured the riders were well supported.
