Nanango Pony Club’s Golden Anniversary campdraft and gymkhana at the weekend was a huge success with 125 campdrafters taking part on Saturday, and 163 riders on Sunday.

Competitors were aiming for qualifying times for the Zone 21 State Formal Gymkhana, Sporting, Mounted Games which will be held at Warwick Polocrosse Grounds on September 26-29.

Eighteen pony clubs attended including Nanango, Kingaroy, Kumbia, Wondai, Gayndah, Kilkivan, Crows Nest, Delaneys Creek, Rosewood, Kilcoy, Tara, Cambooya, Fernvale, Fassifern, Woodford and Brisbane Valley.

Nanango Pony Club spokesman Pat Collins said he would like to congratulate all the participants for the way they conducted themselves.

He also thanked everyone who had helped to make the weekend such a great success: the judges, “pencillers” and all the volunteers, Peter Tapsall Livestock Transport, and the cattle donors (Perrett family, Black family, Bill and Dell Andress, John Tessmann, Les Schloss and family).
