The South Burnett Regional Council’s Healthy Communities Project “Discover the Benefits of Healthy Communities” is once again conducting an Active Parks Program to encourage Kingaroy residents to shake off the winter chill by getting outside and getting active.

Kingaroy Active Parks will have free weekly physical activity sessions running for six weeks from Monday, July 23, to Friday, August 31.

Local qualified fitness instructors Laila Gordon and Nikki Bauer from Cardio Central, and Colleen Gunn from Go Getta Girls, will be providing fun physical activity sessions including fitness circuits, boxercise and yoga.

There will be a different session on each day, held at various times.

The sessions are open to all fitness levels.

The sessions will take place in Memorial Park, near Burnett Street, on the following schedule:

  • Monday – 9:00am-10:00am, fitness circuit
  • Tuesday – 11:00am-noon, Boxercise
  • Wednesday – 1:00pm-2:00pm, yoga

Places are limited. Bookings can be made by contacting Council officer Pam Hinton on (07) 4189-9444 or by email

The South Burnett Regional Council’s Healthy Communities Initiative, funded by the Federal Government, aims to engage adults, predominantly not in the paid workforce, in healthy lifestyle programs and activities.
