Some odd-looking people took up residence recently in a Benarkin park, but there’s no need to call the police.
Council workers recently installed the winning entry in last year’s “All Trails Lead To Blackbutt” sculpture competition into the park near the old rail line.
“Visionaries”, by Erica Neate, is now appropriately displayed in the “contemplation garden” at the park which has was designed by council officer Damien Shelly and constructed by council staff.
The sculpture is made of cement, foam and wire.
Bloomin’ Beautiful Blackbutt Festival Committee president Jeff Connor said the artwork symbolises those people who dream of a future others cannot yet imagine.
“The council has done an excellent job of placing the artwork in the centre of a magic garden for all to appreciate,” Jeff said.
