Fire crews mop up as smoke still rises from the badly damaged machinery shed

June 28, 2012

Fire badly damaged a large machinery shed located behind a home in Bushnells Road, Nanango, this morning.

Four fire crews, police and an ambulance team attended the blaze after reports about 7:50am that a fire had broken out.

An Emergency Services spokesman said fire crews encountered large volumes of smoke issuing from the shed when they arrived at the scene, but the fire was brought under control by 8:30am and the shed was declared safe for people to re-enter at 9:20am.

Police say the shed housed a number of large mechanical items.

While the cause of the blaze is unknown at present, Nanango police said it did not look suspicious.

No one was injured.

Investigations are continuing.
