Former Murgon resident Brian Kratzmann has been selected to play for Australia … at the ripe old age of 65.

The grandfather, who now lives at Hervey Bay, has been selected in the Over 60s cricket team which will tour Britain later this year.

Kingaroy fast bowler Holly Ferling will join the Queensland Fire women’s cricket squad for the 2012-13 cricket season.

The quick has been a rookie list member of the Fire since she was 14 and toured New Zealand last year with the Shooting Stars U21 side.

In April, she made history by becoming the first woman to win the Ken Mackay Trophy for Queensland Junior Cricketer of the Year.
