Twenty-five head of cattle either were killed or had to be put down after a cattle truck rolled near Lower Wonga yesterday afternoon.

Police said a prime mover pulling a stock crate rolled on the Gympie-Woolooga Road about 1:30pm.

The truck was carrying about 50 cattle when the incident occurred.

The driver, a 59-year-old Walloon man, was taken to hospital for treatment but is not believed to have been seriously injured.
